Tribeca Answers the Call to Help Save the Arts in Public Schools

New York, NY May 5, 2016— Lower Manhattan brings you Taste of Tribeca May 21, 2016, at 11:30a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Duane Street between Greenwich and Hudson. Now in its 22nd year, this outdoor food festival gathers the community to raise funds for two New York City public school’s art and music programs.
Taste of Tribeca outdoor food festival will feature dishes from over 65 of Tribeca’s best restaurants including an appearance from Michelin star recipient David Bouley, wine and beer tours of local shops and pubs, family-friendly Kids’ and Sports Zones, and live entertainment provided exclusively by City Winery.
The new and improved Beer and Cider Tour of Tribeca is projected to double the size and scope of last year’s tour. The tour will be hosted by The Hideaway, Warren 77, and others; beers and ciders will be presented by returning participants KelSo Beer Co., Gun Hill Brewing, Catskill Brewery, and The Bronx Brewery and new participating breweries will include Sixpoint, Chatham Brewery, Original Sin Cider, Brooklyn Cider House, and Descendant Cider
- General Tasting Ticket: $45 early bird/$55 day of event prices allow guests six tastes from any of the participating restaurants.
- Premium Seating Ticket: $700 for VIP tables of four/$1000 for tables of six. This includes reserved VIP seating for the duration of the event, personal food runners staffed by students from local high schools, and a gift bag from Taste of Tribeca sponsors.

- All tickets include wine and beer tours of neighborhood shops and pubs, live entertainment, and entry into the Kids’ Zone and a Sports Zone run by Manhattan Youth.
This unique event brings the New York community together to support the ever growing crisis of dwindling art and music programs by supporting two public schools: PS150 and PS234. The money raised provides music instruction for all students through the purchase and maintenance of instruments, hiring of specialized instructors, and also funding to provide a wide range of activities including modern and ballroom dance instruction, chess lessons, storytelling workshops, museum collaborations, and more.

Taste of Tribeca was founded in 1994 by the parents of the children in Tribeca’s two public elementary schools, PS150 and PS234. This festival was born as a way to showcase their very special neighborhood and pay for the much-needed arts and enrichment programs at their children’s schools.
